Thatta is a district in Sindh province of Pakistan. It is about 98 km from Karachi and about same from Hyderabad city. Thatta is an ancient city Indus delta, which is thought to be main port during the time of Alexander. There are many archaeological sites in and around the Thatta city. The most famous of these is the Makli Hill, worlds biggest necropolis. Because of its archaeological importance UNESCO listed the Makli necropolis as a World Heritage Site in 1980s.
City has also a famouse mosque Jama Mosque (Shah Jahan Mosque) built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1630's. There are many other sites, monuments and traces of history in Thatta worth watching.
