Neelam, one of the most beautiful valleys known as the paradise on earth, is a district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan. It is about 43 km from Muzaffarabad city, the capital of Azad Kashmir. It was part of Muzaffarabad district previously. Historically this region was known as Drawah until 1956, when the government of Azad Kashmir named it Neelam. It was named after River Neelam, which passes throughout the 200 km long stretch of the valley. It is the largest district of Azad Kashmir by area.
In Neelam valley there are many of beautiful blue water streams, thick forests, scenic mountains, and many historical places. Among many other, most notable locations in the valley include Keran and Sharda, Kel.
